About Guangdong International Tourism and Cultural Festival 2009 The Guangdong International Tourism and Culture Festival and the concurrent Pan-Pearl River Delta Tourism Promotion Conference are the annual large-scale events jointly hosted by the National Tourism Administration and the Guangdong Provincial Government. The events seek to fully display Guangdong's rich tourism and cultural resources by including 14 other cities in the province as sub-venues. A series of activities will be held in the main venue Guangzhou during the event, including a tourism promotional conference, a travel exposition, a parade of floats, a folk art performance in the area to the south of the Nanling mountains, a gala evening for sister cities, a Guangdong tour designed for overseas Chinese and a summit forum on tourism development. Last year’s activities in other cities included a beach music party in Zhuhai, a mountaineering festival in Shantou, a folk customs and lantern festival celebrating harvest and the Olympic Games in Foshan, a competition for the best travel route in Shaoguan, tours of Hakka culture and food in Heyuan, an international seaside festival in Huizhou, a tour guide contest in Zhanjiang, an international forest mountaineering festival in Zhaoqing, a national 4-wheel-drive cross-country rally in Qingyuan and a tourism gourmet and commodity fair in Chaozhou. Last year, more than 10,000 visitors from home and abroad participated in the festival, including high-ranking governmental officials, experts and representatives from the media, the business community, travel agencies and cultural groups.
2009 廣東國際旅游文化節暨泛珠三角旅游推介大會簡介 廣東國際旅游文化節暨泛珠三角旅游推介大會，是由國家旅游局和廣東省人民政府共同主辦的年度旅游業盛會。主會場設在廣州，分會場分別設在深圳、珠海、佛山、韶關、河源、惠州、江門、湛江、肇慶、清遠、揭陽等市，以全面展現廣東旅游文化資源。 每年廣東國際旅游文化節在主會場廣州有多項活動，主要有開幕式、旅游招商會、旅游大促銷暨國際旅游展覽會、旅游花車大巡游、海外杰出華人廣東行系列活動、友城之夜活動、嶺南民間藝術匯演等。 每年旅游文化節都邀請部分國家和地區的政府官員、駐華使節、新聞媒體記者、知名人士、專家學者、中外客商，以及海內外主要旅游機構、知名旅游企業、文化藝 術團體的代表前來出席各項活動，進行經貿洽談，共襄盛舉。去年旅游文化節期間有超過一萬名海內外游客前來廣東觀光旅游。廣東國際旅游文化節暨泛珠三角旅游 推介大會，客似雲來，商機無限！
